Each box contains information cards on each crystal are packaged in a stylish gift box. The Selenite Heart is to amplify and cleanse the accompanying crystal combination.

As it is expected that these are items being purchased as a gift we have given extra attention and care to ensure that the selected crystals are especially attractive, of good size and represent great value.  The team have hand picked them and so we only have limited stocks of the gift sets. Once they are sold it may be some time before we can put together new sets as it depends on us being able to locate the right kind of specimens for something extra special and having the time to assemble the new sets.  We will try to keep them topped up. The name Amethyst derives from the Greek word ametusthos, meaning “not intoxicated”. The wine god Dionysius, angry over an a lack of respect from the maiden named Amethyst on her way to pray to the Goddess Artemis determined to avenge himself and decreed she would be devoured by his tigers.  As the ferocious beasts sprang, she sought the protection of the goddess Artemis and was saved by being turned into a clear, white crystal. Dionysius, regretting his cruelty, poured the juice of his grapes over the stone as an offering, this was absorbed by the stone giving the gem its lovely purple hue.  This is a stone of creativity linked to expanding the higher mind, purification and clarity.  Helpful in breaking addictive patterns of behaviour it is associated with wisdom, clarity and developing intuition.

Ancient Greeks and Romans routinely studded their goblets with amethyst convinced that it would reduce the wines ability to intoxicate!  Curbing over indulgence emotionally as well as physically is one of the properties of Amethyst as is the power of protection. Worn by priests to prevent mystical intoxication and in older traditions considered to be protection against witchcraft and negative energy.

Amethyst is renowned as a healing stone for ailments and emotional well being. A strong protector that turns negative energy into positive. Amethyst is an exceptional crystal for wearing on the body, for use in healing rituals, and for enhancing one’s environment. It has been known to fade in direct sunlight and care should be taken. It is also good to clear its energies from time to time by holding the stone under running water for a short period while affirming that the stone is cleared
