Crystal Structures
The easy part is describing the chemistry! Crystals are built from one of seven (plus amorphous which means there are no internal structures) possible geometric forms that interlock to form a range of potential crystalshapes that have generic names based on their internal geometry.
The outer form of the crystal will not always reflect its internal structure but will effect how energy flows through it.
Isometric (Cubic): Created from squares with axes at right angles to each other. These tend to be stabilizing and grounding. This for does not bend light that passes through it.
Tetragonal: Created from rectangles with long and short axes at right angles to each other. These absorb and transform energy and are considered to be excellent balancers and resolvers.
Orthorhombic: These are formed from rhomboids and have unequal axes. They encompass energy and are useful cleansers and clearers.
Monoclinic: Formed from parellelograms they are useful for purification and perception.
Triclinic: Formed from trapeziums. Asymmetrical triclinic crystals integrate energy and are used in exploration of extra dimensions.
Hexagonal: Formed from hexagons combining into a 3 dimensional shape these are highly energetic crystals great for energy balancing work and exploration of specific issues.
Trigonal: Created from triangles these radiate energy and are invigorating and protective.
